Tradition

Founded in 1948, SVRC began as an organization dedicated to “promote the breeding, racing, and riding of horses; to foster and perpetuate a spirit of good fellowship and fraternalism among its members; to promote a feeling of goodwill with the community of McCloud; and to rekindle the pioneer law-abiding spirit of our forefathers and their love of horses.” Our members are committed to continuing that legacy through social and riding events.

Community

Social activities have been the key to building friendships and providing entertainment within the club. The members usually plan and attend at least one fun social event every month. Many events are open to the public.

Within our club is a community of volunteers as well. Operation and maintenance of SVRC depends on our members giving their time and donations.

Horsemanship

On the SVRC grounds are twelve horse barns, privately owned by members. In addition, numerous others have horses that are kept off-site. Horsemanship is encouraged at the club through trail rides, roping events, gymkhanas, children’s events, packing clinics, and more.

You don’t have to own or ride horses to be a member at SVRC.
